SUWARI

Introducing 'SUWARI,' a line of chairs designed to fit beautifully into Japanese spaces. With a structure that minimizes floor impact—whether on wood, tatami, or carpet—these pieces transform every act of sitting into a comfortable and harmonious scene.

Structural design with an awareness of vertical and horizontal flow

Traditional Japanese rooms and modern architecture alike are built on a rhythm of vertical and horizontal lines. 'SUWARI' is designed with this flow in mind, naturally blending into both traditional and contemporary spaces while adding a subtle sense of structure and refinement.

Physical and spatial considerations

The seat and backrest are shaped to match the body's natural curves, providing comfort even during long periods of sitting. Each component is refined to the thinnest possible dimensions for durability while minimizing weight. Tapered detailing enhances the chair’s light appearance, and the 'tatami sliders' at the feet reduce impact on flooring.

Series development

To accommodate various sitting styles, the series includes a wide range of options such as chairs, stools, lounge chairs, and seiza chairs.
